Troop 6282 was formed in 2019 as one of the first all-female troops in the Kansas City area. Our troop meets on Mondays from 7 to 8:30 pm at Leawood United Methodist Church, at 2915 W 95th Street (LUMC). Welcome to the best all-girl Scout-led troop in Shawnee Mission!  

Our Troop is made up of about 15 Scouts from the greater Leawood, Prairie Village, Kansas City and Overland Park areas.  Troop 6282 has a strong commitment to keep our programming Scout-led, with the assistance of more than 15 active adult leaders.  We are closely affiliated with Troop 0282, the original Boy Scout Troop based at Leawood United Methodist Church, and are lucky to have leadership support from both the young men and the adult leaders of that troop.  Our Troop also loves to camp!  We camp once a month during the school year rain or shine, and each July we camp at HR Bartle Scout camp.  We follow the Scouting America model to a T -- no special accommodations because we are girls!  Our goal is to help all our girls build their character and learn a lot of useful skills with the opportunity to become Eagle Scouts before they turn 18.
